LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case was bound over to the county grand jury against Glen Abel, 53, West Falls, N.Y., charged with a third-degree felony of compelling prostitution, fourth-degree felony attempted, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and a misdemeanor engaging in prostitution for allegedly soliciting sexual activity in exchange for $240 from a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent posing as an adult female and a 15-year-old female and arriving in East Palestine with his cell phone for the meeting Sept. 2.

A case against Robert W. Farkas, 45, Hawley Avenue, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury on a fourth-degree felony of burglary. Farkas allegedly entered the East Third Street, Salem, home of a stranger July 28 without the resident’s permission while the resident was sleeping on the couch. The resident allegedly woke to find Farkas walking down the steps from the second floor and exit through the front door.

A case against Travis L. Keener, 35, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury on a fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property. Keener allegedly left a motorcycle at a state Route 45, Lisbon, home July 15 stating that it had broken down. The motorcycle was found to be reported stolen out of East Liverpool.

A status hearing was set Dec. 15 for Mitzi Stoddard, 38, Lincoln Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with abuse of a corpse for allegedly being involved when an apparently deceased drug overdose victim was dragged to a van on Chester Avenue in Wellsville allegedly driven by Stoddard and transported to the area known as the switch at state Route 7 and Kountz Avenue. An affidavit said Stoddard told EMS that the victim walked to her van and fell out, so she Narcanned him. EMS and coroner reports said the victim was blue, had rigor and his jaw was clenched shut.

A pretrial was set Nov. 1 for Daniel Hocker, 59, Centerville, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly soliciting sexual activity in exchange for $180 from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent and arriving in Salem with his cell phone for the meeting Sept. 7.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 for Paul Schrum, 81, Berlin Center, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly soliciting sexual activity in exchange for $180 from an undercover Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent and arriving in Salem with his cell phone for the meeting Sept. 8.

Joseph Gear, 47, state Route 164, Leetonia, was fined $1,290 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served with a driver intervention program for physical control, amended from operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to control and disorderly conduct, amended from improper handling firearms. His license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was buying out 40 hours community service. Gear had a loaded gun in the vehicle when the patrol was investigating a crash July 3 on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township.

A pretrial was set Dec. 15 for Patrick Noon, 38, Lowellville, charged with OVI first offense, two counts driving under suspension and two counts open container. The OVI, one driving under suspension charge and one open container charge occurred at county Municipal Court in Lisbon on Sept. 8 when Noon showed up for a hearing on the other charges, which stemmed from a traffic stop on June 24 in Columbiana.

A pretrial was set Oct. 31 for Marina Nicole Rouse, 33, East Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with OVI second offense, OVI breath, failure to control and endangering children for having one or more children in the vehicle when her vehicle went off of the road on Sept. 15 in East Palestine and she was allegedly impaired.

A pretrial was set Nov. 21 for Tracie Reynolds, 48, Vienna, charged with physical control, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years and failure to reinstate.

A sentencing hearing was set Sept. 22 for Logan Jones, Oak Street, Lisbon, who pleaded no contest to criminal damaging and two counts of assault, and was ordered to have no contact with the victims, Justin Sanders and Clara Richards. Bond was set at $7,500 cash or surety. Jones was accused of assaulting Richards at Shenanigans Bar on Sept. 16 in Lisbon and then punching Sanders when he attempted to intervene.

A pretrial was set Dec. 12 for Adriana Carte, 42, South 15th Street, Sebring, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly entering her ex-husband’s property on Hartley Road on April 1.

A pretrial was set Dec. 19 for Chad Cowden, 35, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, charged with failure to stop after an accident and failure to control.

Shawn Tremain, 30, Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and no seat belt.

A pretrial was set Nov. 29 for Sarah Graham, 19, Pinewood Drive, New Waterford, charged with driving under suspension and left of center.

Danielle Staats, 35, Ash Street, Salem, was fined $150 for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Devin Lodge, 21, state Route 558, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial was set Sept. 22 for Eric Alan Copsey, 57, Greenwich, Ohio, charged with compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony, attempted prostitution, a fourth-degree felony, possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution, for allegedly traveling to Salem Sept. 14 in response to an ad posted on a website by a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent in which he agreed to pay $240 for sex with an adult female and a 15-year-old female while staying in town.

A pretrial was set Sept. 22 for Joseph L. Moore, 51, Speidel Road, East Palestine, charged with a protection order violation for allegedly holding up a sign that read “I love you” along U.S Route 30 near Willow Grove Park Sept. 15 in Center Township while the victim was driving to work. Moore was prohibitted from posting signs in public regarding the victim.

A preliminary hearing and pretrial was set Sept. 22 for Daniel James Piatt, 45, Maple City, Michigan, charged with with compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony, attempted prostitution, a fourth-degree felony, possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of engaging in prostitution for allegedly traveling to East Palestine Sept. 14 in response to an ad posted on a website by a Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force agent in which he agreed to pay $120 for sex with an adult female and a 15-year-old female.

A pretrial was set Oct. 11 for Klarysa R. Green, 25, last known address East Fifth Street, Salem, charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct by intoxication for allegedly walking nude in the area of Hawley Avenue and Cleveland Street in Salem Aug. 24 and attempting to bathe with a garden hose in the yard of a residence where she does not reside.

A pretrial was set Oct. 13 for Stephany L. Rupprecht, 51, Washington Street, Leetonia, charged with driving under suspension, two lights required, possession of drug abuse instruments and expired license following a traffic stop in Leetonia June 28 in which she allegedly possessed a pink bag containing needles, a crack pipe and susupected crystal meth scales.

A pretrial was set Nov. 14 for Larissa M, Ritteger, 37, state Route 154, Negley, charged with drug paraphernalia for allegedly being in possession of two uncapped hypodermic needles while being processed at the Columbiana County Jail Sept. 14.

A pretrial was set Nov. 17 for Chris S. Chavis, 54, Idaho Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault and criminal damaging for allegedly shoving the victim down in the street Aug. 14 in Wellsville and throwing her phone across the street, damaging the screen.

A pretrial was set Dec. 13 for Haeden J. Panezott, 26, East School Street, Salem, charged with failure to display a valid sticker and possession of marijuana following two separate traffic stops Sept. 8 in Salem and Sept. 7 in Perry Township.

Brookelynn Ann Frantz, 26, Biery Road, Kensignton, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (178 suspended), fined $320, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 10 hours community service and substance abuse/mental health evaluation for failure to stop following an accident, a seatbelt violation and failure to control.

Kathryn Sims, 33, Duquesne Street, Columbiana, was fined $280 for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.

Infiniti Letuce Brady, 26, Youngstown, was fined $230 for driving under suspension, child restraint and traffic control devices.

Aaron William Mitchell, 28, Carole Drive, Salem, was sentenced to 90 days in jail (suspended), fined $750, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an anti-prostitution class for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

Jason Cyrus Hobbs, 45, Utah Lane, Chester, W.Va., was sentenced to 90 days in jail (suspended), fined $750, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an anti-prostitution class for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools. A charge of drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

Michael Patton,28, Youngstown, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and expired plates.

Jonathan D. Shellenberger, 32, Jones Drive, Salem, was sentenced to 180 days in jail (suspended), fined $300, placed on one year probation and ordered to complete 50 hours of community service for discharging a firearm nad discarding litter.

Louis D. Giusto, 36, Alvin, Texas, was sentenced to four days in jail (credited) and fined $150 for possession of drug paraphernailia.

Lori N. Jones, 25, Alvin Texas, was sentenced to four days in jail (credited) and fined $150 for possession of drug paraphernailia.

Michael P. Sowers, 35, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $100 for criminal trespassing.

James Paladina, 55, Wierton, W.Va., was fined $300 for two counts of disorderly conduct amended from engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

Brandy L. Reinhart, 41, South Market Street, East Palestine, was sentenced to 90 days in jail (87 suspended), fined $1,005, had her license suspended one year, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and substance abuse evaluation for OVI first offense, a seatbelt violation and failure to control. A charge of OCI breath .17+ first offense was dismissed.

Curtis J. Kidd, 39, Smith Goshen Road, Beloit, was sentenced to 15 days in jail (eight credited) and fined $250 for failure to comply.

Fidel R. Syrianoudis, 28, Revere Run Road, Canfield, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Timothy W. Battison, 35, Cortland, was sentenced to 60 days in jail (suspended), fined $900, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 40 hours community service and an anti-prostitution class for possession of criminal tools, possession of drugs and disorderly conduct amended from engaging in prostitution.

Gregory G. Henderson, 66, Metz Road, New Waterford, was sentenced to 120 days in jail (suspended), fined $750, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 40 hours of community service and an anti-prostitution class for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

Jonathan Wayne Steele, 41, Hermitage, Pa., was sentenced to 120 days in jail (suspended), fined $750, placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an anti-prostitution class for engaging in prostitution and possession of criminal tools.

Shelby Lee Russell,21, Koch Street, East Palestine, driving under suspension charged dismissed.

Todd R. Ritchie, 45, East Third Street, Salem, assault charged dismissed.

EAST LIVERPOOL — In East Liverpool Municipal Court, an order was issued for a forensic examination for competency to stand trial and plead not guilty by reason of insanity for Dakota Powell, 27, state Route 39, Wellsville, charged with assault.

Powell was accused of assaulting a hospital security officer at East Liverpool City Hospital on Aug. 27.

Marlon Hale, 44, Irondale, was fined $900 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 24 days suspended, credit for three days served in jail and credit for three days in a driving intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence and divided highway. He was ordered to complete 60 hours community service.

Angela Hess, 41, Ohio Avenue, was fined $150 and ordered to complete 40 hours community service for violation of a protection order for going to a Moore Street property on July 7.

Rebecca Burr, 60, 12th Street, Wellsville, was fined $150 and ordered to complete 40 hours community service for disorderly conduct, amended from theft, for failing to scan 13 items totaling $215 at Walmart on May 11.

Jereme Dailey, 43, West Tennessee Avenue, Sebring, was sentenced to 50 days in jail for violating his probation for receiving stolen property and drug paraphernalia. The charges stemmed from him selling $96 worth of aluminum to Six Recycling from an airport luggage cart and scrap stolen from a yard in East Liverpool on Nov. 6, 2020 and possessing a straw with white powder residue on July 14, 2021 in the Chase Bank parking lot.

Tyler Quimby, 24, Shady Lane, waived a speedy trial and had his case transferred to the Columbiana County Municipal Court for domestic violence for allegedly stomping on a woman’s arm and ripping her up by her tank top on July 2 on Shady Lane. She also had injuries from a previous incident. The case will be scheduled sometime this fall.

Other cases transferred to the county municipal court for hearings to be set later in the fall included: Alton Bradley, 69, Globe Street, prohibitions against violating resolution related to housing for alleged Liverpool Township zoning violation; Chris Woolley, 35, Vine Street, assault and domestic violence; Nichelle Williams, 31, Blakely Street, passing school bus; Gary Dorsey, 60, 14th Street, Wellsville, falsification and drug paraphernalia for allegedly lying about his name and possessing a burnt pipe during a traffic stop Sept. 7; Bud Hall, 23, Laura Avenue, obstructing official business; Eric Hebb, 51, West Sixth Street, driving under suspension; Clarence McCune Jr., 27, East Eighth Street, Wellsville, tail lights violation and menacing; Lonnie Laughlin, 34, Avondale Street, two counts each of telecommunications harassment and menacing; Barbara Boyd, 47, Grant Street, criminal mischief; Robert Barrett, 38, West Ninth Street, fugitive from justice extradition hearing for West Virginia parole violation; Gregg Burton, 46, New Cumberland, W.Va., criminal damaging and disorderly conduct; and James Price, 32, Burford Street, domestic violence.

Brandon Howe-George, 24, Crawford Street, was fined $90 for driving under suspension and costs only for improper registration.

Matthew Powelll, 28, Avondale Street, was fined $90 for driving under suspension.

Terry Sonntag, 57, Etruria Street, was fined $100 for driving under suspension and costs for improper registration.

Douglas Lawrence, 58, Cherry Alley, Wellsville, was fined $50 for no license and costs only for improper registration.

Misty Bidwell, 35, Wilbert Avenue, was fined $40 for disorderly conduct.

Christopher Frazier, 65, was fined $20 for speeding.

Jeffrey Palmer, 37, East Sixth Street, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

A bench warrant was issued for Kevin Neely, 40, South Surry Road, who failed to appear for an assault hearing. The charge stemmed from him allegedly picking up an on-duty security guard at East Liverpool City Hospital and slamming him to the ground, causing physical harm.

A bench warrant was issued for Lindsay Buzzard, 34, Fisher Avenue, who failed to appear for a hearing for possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessed faded syringes and unidentified pills on June 29 in the Walmart parking lot.

Other defendants who failed to appear for hearings included: Bradley McCulley, 31, Walnut Street, Salineville, drug paraphernalia; Alexis Harrison, 29, St. Clair Avenue, criminal trespass; Joseph Mason, 38, Eutaw Street, disorderly conduct and open container; Richard Tittle, 31, Harvey Avenue, marked lanes; Martin Frantz II, 36, Burghill, speeding; Michael Scarabino, 43, Orchard Grove, improper registration; and Kelly Stewart, 49, Dairy Lane, passing school bus.

Cherly Thompson, Howell Avenue, East Palestine, and Franklin Thompson, Wheathill Road, East Palestine; dissolution sought.

Albert Grundy, Alliance, vs. Broadway Iron and Metal Inc., Alliance, State Farm Mutual, Newark and James Grossman, Minerva, et al.; personal injury claim from October 2020 traffic accident in Knox Township.
